The theme of this Paris Design Week China Week is "Bodiless ".This theme coincides with the Oriental lacquer art that curator Song Tao (Founder of Yuan Museum) has been promoting for a long time. Contemporary art and design in China has been searching for its own traditional materials, techniques and methods of creation. Natural lacquer is a unique medium of creation in China, which is very traditional in both physical and cultural properties, and its core is fully consistent with Chinese cultural philosophy. We specially invited five lacquer artists: Zhong Sheng, Yao Bangliang, Sun Wenjia, Qu Tingzhu, Liu Lijun. Their works express the possibilities of lacquer creation in different categories, or painting, or ware, or installation, or sculpture. Different forms of creative exploration converge into a new style of contemporary art. The artists connect the different dimensions world in the way of deep understanding and accurate grasp of the internal laws of things, projecting the connection between people and lacquer, people and the world.
