Mr. Ming Zhang, the former head of the China FAW HONGQI Design, holds professorships at the Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts and the Automotive College of JILIN University. He is also the chairman of the China Automobile Design Association. With nearly two decades of expertise in automotive design, Mr. Zhang has significantly contributed to the field.

In October 2017, Zhang Ming founded the HONGQI Design Team, establishing the whole design process, including design philosophy, design gene, processes as well as quality standards. Over the past seven years, he has led his team in completing the designs for over 30 new products, many of which have won prestigious design awards.

In July 2019, Zhang Ming initiated the "Neo-Sublime Aesthetics" movement in Beijing, aimed at constructing a Chinese automotive design aesthetic system. He also pushed the collaborations with cultural and art institutions, design universities, and artists in order to integrate cultural&arts, traditional crafts into industrial design, so as to refine and enhance HONGQI’s design aesthetic. Mr. Zhang's efforts have positioned HONGQI Design as a pioneering force in advancing Chinese automotive design and in defining the image of "Chinese cars" for the new era.
